To celebrate Safer Internet Day earlier this week, Year 10 pupil Aimee Okeke, was invited to the House of Commons to deliver the keynote speech to MPs to raise the profile of the Childnet Digital Leaders Programme.

The Childnet Digital Leaders Programme is a youth leadership training programme empowering young people to educate their peers about online safety.  Aimee is one of only seven national Digital Champions who help the Childnet Digital Leaders team to ensure that the programme is youth led.

Danielle Antha, Project Manager of Childnet International said “ Aimee was absolutely outstanding! She did a superb job of representing the programme and speaking so articulately and easily to MPs. She spoke eloquently about the Digital Champions’ work on developing the young person’s charter and delivered the core messages of the charter.”

“On behalf of the whole of Childnet, thank you to Aimee for being so wonderful for your engagement with the Childnet Digital Leaders Programme as a whole.”Danielle Antha, Project Manager of Childnet International
