Last Thursday over 200 of our talented Junior and Senior musicians took part in a wonderful evening of music making, raising money for the charity ‘Music for All’, which provides disadvantaged children with an opportunity to learn a musical instrument.

The evening began with an impressive medley from Beauty and the Beast performed by the Senior Orchestra. Many of the teaching staff are now actively involved in this ensemble and it was lovely to see them participate alongside the girls. We then enjoyed one of our 9 different choirs performing Carole King’s superb One Fine Day. Our Hawthorns Orchestra, fresh from their tour to Edinburgh, took to the stage and showed a real strength in communication and musicianship.

We continued to be wowed by more stunning choir and instrumental performances which ranged from an exciting Ghost Train from the Junior Strings through to Y13 Sophie Oliver’s final performance with the school, truly highlighting why she is off to the Royal Academy of Music on a scholarship.

A huge thank you to all the talented girls who have given up their time at numerous rehearsals but special credit must go to Lucy Robinson for her haunting original composition entitled Keep Me Safe.
