The transition from primary to senior school is an important milestone in your daughter’s school career when she will enjoy growing independence and rise to the challenge of new experiences. We appreciate that, whilst exciting, this can be an anxious time for some.
The transition to the Senior School is handled sensitively and effectively ensuring that on entering Year 7 the girls are fully prepared and ready for the next stage of their school life.
Through the normal school day, the girls have already become familiar with areas of the Senior School such as the hall for productions and the dining hall and members of staff who teach lessons or take assemblies.
In Year 5 the girls attend a special themed Taster Day, which allows them to explore the different teaching areas and become more familiar with Senior staff. They have the opportunity to speak to current Year 7 pupils at lunchtime.
Year 5 parents are invited to a Transition Evening in the summer term to meet key members of the Senior Leadership Team and speak to Heads of Department.
