What makes Bromley High special? This is something that parents often ask me and something that I can easily answer: firstly, we are the only all girls’ school in the area – this means that at Bromley we have a tradition of 'girls only' education, stretching back for nearly 130 years. This allows us to know about how girls learn and how they like to be taught and we can provide them with the space and stimulus to do this. With the freedom to be herself, each girl can explore her individual passions and interests, take the lead and be the decision maker and can do so free from stereotyping or assumptions about the roles that girls should take in a school community. As one of the largest of the 24 schools in the family of the Girls’ Day School Trust, Bromley High girls have a sisterhood of over 20,000 other girls, all around the country. They enjoy countless opportunities to have fun and learn together, for example on the sports field, in the debating room and in musical settings . The network of the GDST is the leading educator of girls in the independent sector (educating 20% of all girls in girls’ independent schools nationally). This makes us, quite simply, the leader in girls’ education. We have the resources and support to allow your daughter to find out what she loves and what she is good at, and to help her to get there. As the GDST celebrates 140 years of providing excellence in education in 2012, why not come to see what a difference we can make to your daughter?
