BROMLEY HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS SHINE FOR THEIR COUNTRY

Three Bromley High Students returned to School following the Easter half term break having represented their country across a diverse range of Sports.

Fourteen year old Sophie in Year 10 at Bromley High, returned from Germany from the Four Nations U16 Hockey Tournament where England took on their German, Spanish and Dutch counterparts.

It was really good fun and a great experience to represent my country. I had to battle nerves at the start but soon overcame them with the excitement of the Tournament.” said Sophie.

Steff, also fourteen and a Year 10 student at Bromley High School , swam for Great Britain at the European Youth Olympic Festival , in Belgrade , Serbia winning a Silver Medal in the 100m Freestyle relay.

“This was a great experience and really fun. I liked swapping badges with the other countries! I was nervous and exited at the same time but I was so proud to wear the GB tracksuit.” Steff.

Kaitlyn (15 years old), again in Year 10 at Bromley High School competed for Great Britain in Alpine Skiing at the British Land National Ski Championship in Meribel, France.

“It was a fantastic experience as I was competing against world class skiers like Chemmy Alcott. It was truly tiring as the runs last over a minute but at the end of the day it was worth it.” Kaitlyn .

“It is remarkable that a young person has the opportunity to represent his or her country. We are so proud that during this period alone, three of our girls from one year group have achieved this marvellous feat .” Lorna Duggleby, Head .
