Art and Design enjoys an extremely high profile within Bromley High School. All pupils study Art until the end of Year Nine. Many then go on to study the subject to GCSE and AS/A level.
We are fortunate to have the use of 4 spacious purpose-built studios. These include two painting and drawing studios two of which are well equipped for computer graphics using PCs and Apple Macs. We also have an excellent 3-D and ceramics studio with 2 large kilns, damp stores and a spray booth. Sixth form students use the mezzanine studio and are able to establish their own workspaces, much as one would find in an Art College. The school also has a large and well-equipped Darkroom. Photography is available to pupils in Year 11 upwards including those who do not study Art to examination level. Using these excellent facilities, pupils of all ages are able to tackle ambitious projects in media ranging from printmaking to computer animation.
Examination results in Art are consistently excellent. Our pupils' work is frequently featured in local and national exhibitions and often wins prizes in Art and Design competitions. Many of our Sixth form students choose to continue their studies at Art colleges in London and around the country.
