We cover the objectives of the Literacy Strategy, and have adapted it to the current needs of our school. We feel it is important that pupils can write effectively, both imaginatively and factually in a range of curriculum subjects, such as History, Geography and R.E. Care is taken with spelling, handwriting and general presentation of work. Reception are taught to write in cursive script from the beginning.

We also help our children to acquire good communication skills, developing the ability to think critically, enabling them to understand both the written and spoken word and to make appropriate responses.
