----ENTRY 2009/10: ENTRANCE EXAM DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY----
Sixth Form Open Evening is on Tuesday 9 th October 2007 from 6.45 pm with a Follow up Evening on 10 th January 2008 from 7.00 pm If your daughter is applying for entry to the Sixth Form, you will be sent the Sixth Form Booklet (within the School Prospectus) and Curriculum handbook. On receipt of your completed registration form, and your daughter's proposed course of study at 'A' level, you will be invited to attend a Sixth Form Open Evening on 9 th October for Year 11 students and their parents when the broad outline of courses available are given. You will also hear about the exciting opportunities for students in the Sixth Form at Bromley High. The School will be awarding Sixth Form Scholarships this year. Selection for scholarship will be based upon a written application produced by the student which must be submitted to the school office by Friday, 9th November 2007. The best candidates will be interviewed for the final allocation of awards in the week commencing 19th November. Specialist scholarships are awarded for Art, Music and Sport but Art and Sport are only available to girls already at Bromley High School . During the Spring term*, there will be a meeting about subject choices when you and your daughter will have the opportunity to speak with heads of the academic departments. This is also something of a general forum when your questions can be answered. As a result of this discussion we would hope to be able to make your daughter an offer of a place in our Sixth Form for September 2008 dependent upon her meeting the admissions criteria, i.e. at least six GCSE subjects at A/B grade and we strongly recommend that your daughter has A grades in the subjects she wishes to study at Advanced Level. Bursaries and Scholarships are available at entry into Year 7 and the Sixth Form only. Further information is available on the GDST website: www.gdst.net. PLEASE NOTE WE ARE ABLE TO ACCEPT LATE APPLICATIONS FOR ENTRY TO THE SIXTH FORM IN SEPTEMBER 2008. We look forward to receiving your application and to meeting you again. Please do not hesitate to telephone our Admissions Secretary, Mrs Woodfield, on 020 8468 7981, if you have any queries. |
